Overview is seeking a Front-end Engineer with a passion for solving complex technical challenges. You will apply existing skills and learn new tools and techniques to drive solution decision-making and identify system improvements for overall solution architecture as part of a fantastic multi-functional team. This position will support BigBear, LLC, a company.

What you will do

  • Developing front-end capabilities for a large-scale production application applying front-end javascript frameworks such as Angular
  • Lead at an engineering level the design, development, testing and debugging of software features/components and products
  • Participate in all team ceremonies including planning, grooming, product demonstration and team retrospectives.
  • Be an active participant in a diverse and awesome engineering team that delivers production quality capabilities to our customers
  • Take ownership of cross team issues and product delivery issues including pro-actively communicate across teams to coordinate activities

What you need to have


  • 3+ years professional/paid experience building web applications with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • 2+ years of practical and recent experience with TypeScript and web frameworks like Angular
  • Solid understanding of web technologies, protocols, and browser APIs
  • Experience actively leading client design discussions with Business Analysts and UI/UX engineers to architect immersive front end applications
  • Experience working as part of an Agile development team and ability to effectively work independently
  • Comfortable building user experiences that interface with RESTful web services
  • Experience using Git or other version control systems
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Clearance:The selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance. US citizenship required.

What we'd like you to have

  • 5+ years professional/paid experience building web applications with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Comfortable working with reactive programming libraries like ReactiveX/RxJS
  • Development experience with Sass/SCSS
  • Experience working with testing frameworks such as Cypress or Selenium
  • Familiarity with GIS mapping JS frameworks and data visualization libraries like: Leaflet, Mapbox GL JS, OpenLayers, and D3
  • Experience designing, building, documenting, and maintaining highly responsive Single Page Applications (SPA)
  • Experience with the AWS cloud platform, specifically services including EC2, S3 and RDS
  • Experience working with Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, and/or other data stores
  • Experience working with asynchronous code and Web Workers
  • Experience working with CI/CD and DevOps tooling such as Jenkins, Terraform, and other automation support frameworks
  • Working knowledge of WebGL, OpenGL, and/or GLSL
  • Interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed
